One of many gardens on the lower Terraces (hanging gardens) leading up to the Shrine of the Báb, on Mt Carmel (also significant in Christianity, Judaism and Islam), in the heart of Haifa. There are 19 Terraces altogether (including the Shrine level) – with 9 above the Shrine and 9 below. By the way, there are a total of 1700 steps on the Terraces. The # 19 is significant as it represents the first 18 believers or Apostles who accepted the Báb (Who, for Bahá’ίs, prepared humanity for the coming of Bahá’u’lláh and the Báb Himself – similar to Jesus and the 12 Apostles). Bahá’u’lláh also had His own Apostles.
