The Mansion of Mazra’ih – which is the first place that Bahá’u’lláh lived (before Bahji) after He was released from house arrest. He loved the country so much and hadn’t seen any trees, flowers or grass for 9 years (time He was in the prison). After much convincing by both Abdu’l Bahá and the Mufti (high ranking religious leader) of Akká that He was no longer a prisoner, Bahá’u’lláh consented to move to this house, which is in a beautiful spot. Abdu’l Bahá had the house fixed up and rented it for 5 pounds for 5 years and Bahá’u’lláh moved in. The large clump of Cypress trees beside the house are from the time of Bahá’u’lláh (mid to late 1800’s).
