German Templar house on Ben Gurion Ave, Haifa. A lot of the buildings are occupied by shops, B and B’s and restaurants now. From what I understand, around the time of the Báb’s ministry (circa 1844), there was a lot of speculation over the 2nd coming of Christ. I’m not exactly sure of the time line, but a group of German Templars (a denomination of Christianity) moved to the base of Mt. Carmel because they believed that Christ was about to return. Apparently they’re still waiting! The buildings of the Templars are distinctive because of the red clay roofs.
